I was enchanted with these pieces because they have glittery specks of what appears to be mica, and in this case I gotta say, all that glitters IS gold. 😍😍😍

Reality has dramatically shifted since I ate these empanadas on the island of Isla Holbox.
At the time I was thrilled to find an empanada made with corn instead of flour, and even more thrilled to learn it was insanely delicious. I had no idea when I left paradise I’d be returning to our entire world feeling like it’s being flipped upside down.
I spent part of yesterday in a Publix supermarket trying to restock since we just got back from vacation. To be honest, my cart was full. I think it’s responsible to be getting the supplies you might need to get through a couple of weeks (this is totally coming from a healthy energetic place, I’m not advocating hoarding). Everyone was pretty calm, but shelves were leaner than usual, and the staff was visibly worn thin.
I’ve seen some people hating on everyone that bought up all the toilet paper yesterday. Please remember that everyone deals with stress in different ways. And looking back, the last 36 hours were incredibly intense. The news has really started to hit home. Our govt finally admitted there’s a crisis, even if they won’t admit not being ready for it, and many industries are already feeling the economic impact. Many parents are trying to deal with kids stuck at home with no school in the foreseeable future, using up more food and yes, toilet paper.
I myself woke up from intense Armageddon type dreams several times last night as my subconscious tried to grapple with what it’s seeing and what it fears is possible. So now I am aware that even though I thought I was staying pretty calm, my little amygdala (subconscious reptilian brain) has been quietly panicking, knowing that it’s in a fight or flight type situation with an enemy it’s completely unable to escape, and unable to fight because how can you fight something you can’t see?
Make no mistake, this is our collective trauma, every human being will experience this on some level. Be kind. Show grace. Don’t judge people for freaking out. This is hitting us in waves, and it could be you panicking next week, or even next month.
